The two most common types of air conditioning units used in domestic application are the Wall Mount and Floor Mount.
There is now a smaller range of wall mounted type units which both cool and heat and operate at very low noise levels with a compact, slim profile and are operated by infrared remote making them ideal for domestic use.
The floor mount range is popular with, for example, conservatories where there is limited wall space and also provides a more discreet option.
Ducted type air conditioning systems can also be installed into a domestic environment, however, this is achieved normally during construction or in roof space only.

Wall mounted air conditioners are not only used domestically due to the wide range of capacity they are popular in the commercial sector as well.
Under Ceiling
Under ceiling type is useful where wall space is limited as unit hugs ceiling and provides a flexible installation option.
Ceiling Cassette
A concealed Cassette is recommended when used where a suspended ceiling exists, most commonly found in an office.
Ducted Units
As the name suggests the conditioned air is carried to the required area using duct work. The benefit of this is that the unit can be hidden away and the airflow can be silenced.
All air conditioning systems need to extract heat and dissipate it to the outside environment via a condensing unit. These units have to be located externally or in a large vented area.
